Hello! A few weeks ago i went to the Hurtgen forest with my m.d. One of the findings was this piece of a cigarettebox.I also found a small knife in a foxhole and a nice U.S.collar disc.Altough it was wet and cold it was a nice day for me! Grt Melle!
Melle, Thanks you for sharing your precious finds .... if you only knew who these belonged to?? None the less, a rare discovery. all the best, Jem
Thx Jem I only found initials on the box.A.H. Someone told me that this box was made in northren France. So maybe the owner was there at D-day and lost it during the battle in the Hurtgen.I also found the inscription VIII on the box .8th Infantrie Division?
great box lid. Northern France you say? That's hard to say, I would take that for granted, it might a swell be German or even British. Who knows when and where this was picked up by a G.I. ? It could be a sweetheart souvenir .
Hi Andy! I try to go so much as i can but i don't have always the chance.(work) Let's say three days in a month?
