    Yes that sniper training film is a good 'un it's one of two on this release;

    The interesting part is that the first film is very well put together and covers all which you might expect it to, the second one looks like more of a rushed production and actually contradicts some of the first one.

    The newsreels are always interesting to watch, just have a large dose of salt nearby.

    cheers

    DVD available from German Sniper: The Invisible Enemy

    There must be sniper training films for just about every nation tbh, just never seen any other than this one. Tis a shame.

    I bet that Simo Hayha didn't need a training film! LOL. He used the old iron sight :).

    I dont think that guy was better than Vassili though. Vassili had to snipe in the always active and enemy populated city of Stalingrad...relocating in much more occations and hunted by mayor Konings ( if this guy existed )

    500 CONFIRMED kills over open sites? All within 100 days.Averaging approx 5 kills a day.That is more amazing.

    Funny how most people have heard of Vasily Grigoryevich Zaytsev because of the movie "Enemy at the Gates". Yet many do not know that there were others with higher scores then his. About 10 of them. Fyodor Matveyevich Okhlopkov being a good example. He was an expert sniper and was considered one of the best in the Soviet army with approx 425 kills. And Mikhail Ilyich Surkov being considered the top scorer with approx. 702.

    Since the Soviets saw no problem with women serving in the Military and they showed that they too could fight as well as the men ,especially as pilots and snipers,I doff my cap to them. And they were VOLUNTEERS. When you are shot and killed it matters not if you were killed by a male or female sniper. Either way you are dead.

    The Russians sent the women to fight instead of themselves, thats what the Germans thought and thats what i think.
