...the items displayed on this tunic? Just as an educational thing?

    Thanks,

David one of our other experten should mention these awards but I will give it a stab towards it anyway....

lower right side of the tunic, Deutsche Kreuz in Gold.....this has the swastika blanked out.

Grossdeutschland cuff title worn on the right lower sleeve unlike the SS-panzer division members with the cuff title on the lower left sleeve.

at the button hole of the tunic with ribbon is the EK II or Iron Cross 2nd class

center of tunic left pocket is a cross which is the EK I or Iron Cross 1st class

to it's lower left is the black wound badge and opposite it is the anti-partisan badge ?

the clasp above the left tunic pocket is the close combat clasp in silver ? the clasp came in three grades, bronze, silver and then fianlly gold.

the beautiful blue cross with ribbon is the famous WW 1 award, the Pour le Merite

hth and any others chime in please !

    Pretty darn good explanation erich.

The only things I can add are:

The 1939 EK2 would not be worn on the tunic after the 1st day--the day in which the bearer had been awarded it.

Next the GD tunic would not have had the Anti-partisan badge on it as the men of the GD were not Partisanjagers or Kopfjagers. In it's place woulr most likely be an infantry Assault Badge, or if it was GD arty--the Heer-W-SS Arty badge or if GD Panzer--the PAB.

I admit--I am rusty on GD ops but--I do not recall them participating in anti-partisan ops--or for very long as they were mainly a front-line combat unit.

An inquiry. Where is this tunic and do you know who owns it?
