Did Good Conduct ribbon come with medal?

    Someone please educate me. My grandfather's Good Conduct ribbon looks like it may have had something hanging off of it. There is a metal hook of some type. I'll try and attach a really bad picture but it will have to do. Any thoughts appreciated.

    Thanks for the reminder of my impotence of proper medal terminology.
    Perhaps I should have asked if the ribbon could have had anything attached to it.

    I wouldn't think so. Ribbons were meant to be worn on the uniform in order of precedence. They wouldn't have anything hanging from them. Here is an example of how they would be worn.
