The MP40/II is a very rare weapon indeed and was produced in 1943 by Erma - Maschinenfabrik, B. Geipel GmbH, Erfurt (ayf) and never actually got past the experimental stage. It is assumed that the MP40/II came about after German soldiers encountered Soviet troops with the PPSH41 sub machine guns with their 71 round drum mags.
That sounds pretty accurate and makes sense, I wonder who that MP40 belonged to. I really want to buy a PPSH41 parts kit and build one, of course it will be semi auto, better than nothing!! sold off 4 ak47's last year
I didn't know this dual model existed either. It has an impressive aspect to say the least. On the other hand I don't think too many people would be ready to pay the price of a house for this gun.
