Somehow missed this one.... http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0901481/ Thomas Kretschmann as Eichmann. Anybody seen it?
Sounds like a remake to me. This one was a good film with Robert Duvall as the evil Eichmann. The Man Who Captured Eichmann 1996 http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0116975/
I haven't seen either film but do want to see the Duvall version. I also agree-Kretschmann is a good actor. Is his Eichmann movie in English? If not? i'd still buy it. Kretschmann was great in Stalingrad.
Carl Robert Duvall gives a great and creepy performance justifying his actions in the pre-Israel interrogations. The film is based on Eichmann's capture and moving him around before they finally whisk him away to Israel.
Hi Kai, Richard-thank you both. Kai, when you can, please let me know what you thought about the movie? Your judgement for them in the past has greatly helped me ;-)) Richard, thanks for that as well. I always liked Duval and he DOES looka bit sinester doesn't he? I can't wait till I see him in the COMBAT episode he did-which was one from the last season-and is in color.
Watched it last night. I think it was ok and I got more out of the trial in Israel in the early 1960´s. Interesting how Eichmann tried to refuse the responsibility until they were able to show Himmler´s order not to send the Hungarian Jews to be destroyed. An interesting question to Eichmann in the film: " How does destroying Greek Jews help in purifying German blood?" I think they could have squeezed a bit more out of the Eichmann title but worth watching anyway.
