Famous Belgian UFO photo revealed to be a Hoax!

    :p Belgium UFO that puzzled NASA was polystyrene fake - Yahoo! News LOL! One of the most famous UFO photo incidents photographed in history was nothing more than a polystyrene model photographed by an 18 year old! Wow! Just revealed on Belgian TV, any of our users from Belgium have a say or thoughts on this? It sure fooled alot of people.

    i cant beleive it managed to fool NASA scientists so long that he came cleen about it, do you have a copy of this picture?

    Heh. People are always surprised when a "ufo" picture is disproved, explained, or otherwise revealed. With the levels of photo technology available today (heck, even back in the 90's when I started shooting), there should be no reason for blurry hard-to-make-out images. Odd, too, that as the cameras got better, the ufo photos became fewer...

    I've been looking at UFOs ever since my late wife decided to do a thesis on the UFO culture. I found that there are two general types of reports, one "well, I saw something, and I don't know what it was", and "well, I saw something, and I don't what it was, so it's an alien spacecraft."

    A good test for a UFO story: Replace "UFO" with "unicorn" and see if the story is still believable.

    Well sometimes it's not alien but "nazi" or "government" or some such. The latter was even correct a few times remember the F-117 was kept secret for about a decade while it was operational.

    You really shouldn't be. Teens often make up for experiance by levels of creativity and a willingness to try that exceed that of their elders.

    But I mean it was deemed by many as the best "evidence" of UFO's in pictures. Now that it's a fake it brings the entire events that happened in Belgium into question.

    The current head of MUFON is holding that position because the previous head quit in disgust over the lack of evidence. He simply grew frustrated over the fact that decades of reports were completely unsupported by actually facts. It says something about the whole UFO culture when one of the Big Dogs quits for that reason, IMHO.
