    Hello fellow WWII history buffs,
    I am a resident of Halifax, Nova Scotia and I come from a military family and have grown up in the military and since have become addicted to military history and I joined a local WWII living history ground and we travel to schools and other events and set up displays so the general public can learn more about what life was like as a WWII soldier.
    Our group consists of men and women who portray various people during WWII, we have guys who dress up as Russian, German, Polish, Canadian, American units and we have amassed a large collection of WWII militaria.
    I am still new to the WWII history and joined this group so I could learn more about what us Canadians did in the war as I am more educated as to the US and Russian aspect but not to knowledgeable in what the Canadians did and where we fought in the war.
    Both my grandfathers were WWII veterans, and have come into possession of some of my grandfathers' WWII stuff.
    I enjoy being able to dress up in the uniform that both my grandfather's wore and get to experience the stuff they did and makes me respect them so much more.
    I look forward to being an active member in this forum and have LOTS of questions to ask, so hope I can get some answers from this site to understand more about WWII.

    Glad to have you aboard, Gee. Ask away if you have questions. There are plenty of other Canadians around, so if we can't help you, they surely can.

    Forgot to fill out the Questionaire;

    1. Your Name: My name is Glenn Williston, you can call me anything just don't call me late for supper. My username is my initials. GW, spelt out
    2. Age: I am 26, soon to be 27, my birthday is in November.
    3. Origins: My ancestors came to Canada from across the pond, they were United Empire Loyalists. I was born in Victoria, British Columbia.
    4. Specifics: I like all aspects of WWII, I especially find the advancement of technologies very fascinating, especially on the German side, with the birth of the ME-262. I'd like to learn more about my grandfather and my great uncle and what they did in WWII in Europe, and where they were.
    5. Hobbies: I am a member of the Atlantic Canadian WWII Living History Association, I also enjoy playing classic video games. Super Nintendo is my favorite.
    6. Other: Another time period I am quite interested in is the period of crusades for the Holy Land, more specifically, I am interested in the Knights Templar. I have been interested in the Templars for quite some time, and find their history very intriguing and living here in Nova Scotia, there is claim that we have a connection to the Templars here on a place called Oak Island.
    7. Miscellaneous: I am interested in writing a book focusing on WWII, but the subject is covered by everyone out there, but I was also thinking of doing a book focusing on Nova Scotia during the Second World War.
