Sophia Loren turns 76 years "young" today, September 20th. Her poster rising out of the med. in a wet blouse (Boy on A Dolphin) remains one of my favorite female movie posters of all time. Probably the only time in his life Alan Ladd was glad he was slightly short, probably wished he was more the size of Mickey Rooney those weeks on the shoot.

Heston was "impressed" with Sophia in that one too! To be hones I'd say that no movie I've ever seen her in has been a disappointment. Of course I haven't seen all that she made in the foreign film department, but all she has been in have been super. Or at least high quality films, no "stinkers" taken just for a paycheck.

Well, it's 6PM EDT, and Sophia has not shown again at my house. Another year of disappointment. I guess there is always next year.
Let's see, between Sophia, Ann-Margret, Audrey Hepburn, Ursula Andress, and Bardot I was always disappointed in their not showing up at my place too. I got used to it, but I'm sure my psyche was damaged. I should sue.

Hi Clint, I agree with you. Sophia is a top quality actress and ive never been disappointed in anything i saw her in-which is rare since every other Actor out there has had at least one stinker.
One of my favorite pics of Sophia was taken at Romanov's in 1957 when the "new girl" showed up and plopped herself down between Loren and her date Clifton Webb. The look on Sophia's face is priceless.
