Just wanna wish my fellow Canadians a Happy Thanksgiving Day! Enjoy your turkeys, and pumpkin pies and the few added pounds! gobble gobble
if I may suzie,I'll add a thanksgiving poem.. Twas the Night Before Thanksgiving... Twas the night of Thanksgiving, but I just couldn't sleep I tried counting backwards, I tried counting sheep. The leftover beckoned - the dark meat and white But I fought the temptation with all of my might. Tossing and turning with anticipation The thought of a snack became inffatuation. So I raced to the kitchen, flung open the door And gazed at the fridge full of goodies galore. I gobbled up turkey and buttered potatoes, Pickles and carrots, beans and tomatoes. I felt my self swelling so plump and so round, Til all of a sudden, I rose off the ground. I crashed through the ceiling, floating into the sky. With a mouthful of pudding and a handful of pie. But I managed to yell as I soared past the trees..... "Happy Eating to all, pass the cranberries, please!" May your stuffing be tasty, may your turkey be plump. May your potatoes 'n gravy have nary a lump, May your yams be delicious, may your pies take the prize, May your Thanksgiving dinner stay off of your thighs!!
I too wish our Canadian Rogues a Happy Thanksgiving! Don't go too far overboard on the grub, there is always tomorrow.
I am stuffed too!! not to mention really sleepy... why is that? I wonder why turkey is a sedative? BTW, cute poem Ray ... good way to celebrate turkey day!
And a Happy Thanksgiving to those celebrating this weekend. We had our Thanksgiving dinner on Saturday evening, and tonight attended a Tony Bennet concert - which was wonderful.

"So, how about the 4th of July? " Sure, anything for you A-58! You are the reason why we love America! It's all about you my friend.....it's all about you!! Suzie
Awww man, you messed it up. You were supposed to say "we don't have the 4th of July in Canada, that's an American holiday, eh." Then I would say, "what, Canadian calendars skip from the 3rd to the 5th?" At this point, everyone would laugh. I pulled this one on an Englishman one night in one of the local watering holes in town. At first, he didn't think it was funny, then he lightened up. His buddy nearly fell off the stool laughing at him. Oh well, I guess you had to be there....
that is hallerious! ouch, that one backfired! I'm sorry, That one's worthy of a salute! I gotta hand it to you, I thought you were serious for a minute... Suzie

Sorry Sunny, but Remembrance Day is a statutory day off here in Saskatchewan. The schools and most offices are closed and it is only in recent times that stores have been open, although business is not always that brisk. For Manitoba, they are more restrictive Province of Manitoba: News Releases at one time it was a mandatory day off there without pay.
