Harold Dean Eppler 87, of Lebanon, Oklahoma passed away Thursday, August 6, 2009, at the hospital in Madill. Harold was born on March 9, 1922, in Lebanon, Oklahoma to the late Omar Eppler and Pearl Armstrong Eppler. He was raised in Lebanon before joining the United States Army where he served for 15 years and fought at the battle of Bulge during World War II. He married Elizabeth Walden on November 10, 1945, in Denison, Texas. Harold later lived in Dallas, Texas for 25 years before moving back to Lebanon where he has lived the past 20 years. He enjoyed carpentry work and he was affiliated with the Seventh-day Adventist.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Eppler, Lebanon, Oklahoma; sons, James Eppler, Iowa and Phillip Eppler, North Dakota; daughters, Diana Heptinstall, Lebanon, Oklahoma, Martha Eppler, California and Gina Witt, Texas; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; brothers, Sambo Eppler, Madill, Oklahoma, Clinton Eppler, Lebanon, Oklahoma and Leon Eppler, Kingston, Oklahoma; and sisters, Geneva Taylor, Nevada and Nelcyne Moore, Lone Grove, Oklahoma.


Harold was preceded in death by his parents, one son; Mauris Eppler, one daughter; Janet Phanich, one brother: Donald Eppler and one sister, Dawnyce Vinson.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 11, 2009, at 2 p.m. at the Watts Memorial Chapel, Madill, Oklahoma. Dan Clifton will officiate the services. Interment will be at the Lebanon Cemetery, Lebanon, Oklahoma. Services will be under the direction of Watts Funeral Home, Madill, Oklahoma.

Visitation will be Monday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. in the Watts Funeral Home in Madill.

Casket bearers are Clint Moore, Mark Eppler, Clarence Heptinstall, Steven Walden, Kevin Eppler and Mitch Eppler.
