and I just finished watching it last night. I ordered it from Netflix, not really knowing the content. I was amazed at what I received. The name is Japan's War: In Colour and was produced in the UK by Carlton documentary productions, and distributed in America by MGM.

This is NOT colorized film, but real color film from the thirties and forties. Film which was not known to exist until rather recently (unsure of the date it was found), and follows Japan from the mid-thirties until post-war. From the jubilation of their early victories, and the lies of their government to the civilians and soldiers during the war, to the final humiliation of their defeat.

Certainly worth the 2 1/2 hours of time spent watching, and listening to the diaries of the Japanese themselves, hope at least some of you can find it and watch it.

You've got my interest up. Going to Netflix now to dig it up and bump it to the top of my list. RTF (report to follow).
