Hello All. My name is Brian and I live in Louisiana. I'm 31, married, and have three kids. Ever since I was a child, I have been interested in the history of World War II. I grew up surrounded by World War II veterans, and I listened to every story that they were willing to tell. My grandfather served in the Army Air Forces in Egypt and the Middle East. Four great uncles served - two were Marines in the Pacific. Another flew B-17 bombers from England, and another was a ground pounder through Western Europe. Three close family friends also served. Two were Navy, with one serving on the U.S.S. North Carolina and another on the U.S.S. Mississippi. The third was a Sherman driver in Italy. All of them but one are gone now. It was an honor to know and love these men.
Louisiana! What part you be from ? That's where i'm from bro. Welcome Brain, i'm Alex you need anything let me know!
Welcome Brian. I can relate to being surrounded by WWII veterans as a kid growing up. In fact, almost every adult male (and some women) I knew served in uniform during WWII in some capasity. I listened to stories too, but I wish I had seriously asked more questions while they were around. I look forward to your posts. Greg C.
Hello Brian. Welcome aboard. Plenty of information available, and a few Louisianans to spice up the brew.
You guys are just everywhere. I was in a Pub in Venice the other day , they had posters on the wall with signatures from customers and there was this drawing from LSU kids saying they had a great time there.
I'm in Madisonville. It used to be the sticks but it is getting too big around here too fast. My family has been in Madisonville since 1854. Some of us wondered off to Baton Rouge for awhile, but ended up back here on the family land! We get around. I lived in Australia for five years and the first other American that I met there was an LSU student.
