I am excited to have found this forum and look forward to learning more about it and about you all. Here is a little about me: Name: Bill Phillips. My user name is in honor of my Dad: Pfc. Henry “Hank” Phillips, 574th AAA (AW) Battalion SP, U.S. 13th Armored Division, 1943-1946. He was a cannoneer then gunner on a M-16 Quad .50 half-track. Age: 44. I have been interested in WWII since listening to my dad’s stories as a child. Origins: I’m originally from Spokane, Washington State, USA (about 300 miles east of Seattle). I have lived in Minnesota for 10 years. Specifics: I’m interested in all areas of WWII. My current area of interest in the front line soldiers of the German Army. I'm reading "Frontsoldaten" by Dr. Stephen G. Fritz. An abiding interest has been the Battle of the Ruhr Pocket (where the 13th Armored and my Dad first saw combat). Hobbies: Military history and history in general. I enjoy visiting historical sites. I also enjoy well-researched historical fiction. Other: I am also very interested in the U.S. Civil War. Miscellaneous: I am a family practice doctor (general practitioner) in the small town of Glencoe, Minnesota, about 1 hour west of Minneapolis. I have 2 teen-age daughters, the oldest of whom is learning to drive. (Yikes!)

hi everyone, i am so glad i found this WWII forums, i have always been in search of some websites where i can find links regarding my grandfather who is a I and II world war veteran, we have no records of his ancestry, my uncle who is a retired military have created one to find ways to get connected. My grandfather's name is Felipe F Quinquinio, I and II WW veteran US Army and Navy. I now live here in the US with my daughter and any information would be very helpful for us.
