My nephew has put my father's ribbon rack back together and can't identify the last ribbon on the rack (bottom row, far right)...

Additional information that might help in the identification:
    - He entered military service from Buffalo, NY.
    - My father served as an infantryman with the 10th Mountain Infantry in Italy.
    - To my knowledge he was never in the National Guard or State Militia.
    - Before the war he had been a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps (twice).

Any help in identifying this ribbon would be greatly appreciated.

    Respectfully submitted,
    Bruce Pawlak

Bruce, that's a real poser. I've checked numerous sources and can't find anything remotely similar. I hope others chime in, but I'll keep looking.

That ribbon has made an appearence here before and I am thinking it was a VFW or American Legion Ribbon.

As I recall he was a VFW member before us kids appeared...

Thanks for your efforts in trying to resolve this mystery!

If that is a VFW medal, is it authorized to wear on a military uniform?
    Never seen that done before.

Nope I am thinking it is one of the ribbons they were on their hats. I am sure that it was just in the box with the other ribbons and was assumed to be military.

I have been searching for WWII era VFW medals and ribbons without any real success...
