Hi, I am looking for some information on how I could go about contacting World War Two veterans who served at Monte Cassino, as I am planning of doing my dissertation on it at University. I am especially looking for info on the Stockport Italy Star Association. I saw them in spoons once, but was to shy to say anything to them, as they took the piss out my Italia shirt. I have already got one vet lined up to interview, although he is a German paratrooper, and I would like to find some British Vets. Any Help would be great. Best Regards Phil [ 05. Saying 'Cassino', makes it a very wide subject to cover unless you mean those who fought specifically on it or in the immediate area? Members of the Italy Star Association should be a good general source. Suggest you contact the Secretary at italy.star.assn-east.hants@ntlworld.com No.9
Phil--sent you a PM with 1 Grossdeutschland and 2 Gebirgejager RKT addresses. I think that that is all that is left. Will have to find out from Paul when possible--to make sure.
Thanks for the email address No.9, I'll see what happens, I am looking for those troops who saw service in the battle for cassino and the surrounding area. Carl, thanks for the addresses, I have sent a PM your way Cheers Phil
Hi Phil - I am just in the process of starting an oral history project with British/Commonwealth veterans of the Italian campaign; perhaps we can share some contacts? You can drop me an email via my website below; there are some articles on Cassino on there, following my visit there with a vet in May this year.
Hi Paul, I have tried to email youi a few times, but my emails keep getting returned to me, so I have sent you a PM! Cheers Phil
