My friend Gene, who spent 10 months in Stalag Luft 4 (German POW camp) gave me this Nazi armband but had little information on it.

Can anyone help identify who may have worn it and what the button says?

"Der Kyffhäuserbund seinem Kameraden" (from the Kyffhäuserbund to its comrade)
The Kyffhäuserbund is kind of a veterans' association. See here for more information:

The monument could be the Voelkerschlachtdenkmal near Leipzig which commemorates a 1813 Battle and was inaugurated by Wilhelm II in 1913. This is a symbol of German Nationalism and was therefore used by the 3rd Reich as a propaganda tool and symbol.

    possibly Skip

Rodeo could you please removed the badge from the armband so we can see fully the graphic itself on the armband completely ?

have found what it is : New style Nazi-sponsored Kyffhauserbund arm band for ordinary members ~ War Veterans Support Association, the black monument stands on top of the world so to speak just as Skip has shown through the war memorial photo

I appreciate everyone's help so far. Based on what Erich and Sneir have said (plus Wikipedia), this arm band would have been given to a veteran of an earlier war (as part of a veterans group)? Wikipedia says Hitler disbanded "The Kyffhäuserbund" in 1943 so this would date pre-1943?

Thanks again to all who have posted. Gene has some other things I may post as well.
