The armament of Hood was frequently changed throughout its career. Does anyone know what its armament was in 1940 when it fought Bismarck? Is this right--
    8*15in guns
    14*4in AA guns
    5 rocket projectors
    4 torpedo tubes
    4*3pdrs
    24 pompoms

I can remember my Grandfather telling me that when the Hood went down it was probably one of the lowest points for British civilian morale in the whole War. He did live in Coventry though. He told me that at that point it was widely believed that Germany were going to win.
