Is the human race going nuts I ask? When I see a story like this I can not help but think yes. Australian councillor, Hajnal Ban, has legs broken to become taller - Times Online Some one please tell me something good please.
Heck, in Russia, there are people who would break your legs for a lot less than $20000A and in more than four places too! She is cute but now she's too tall.......
it;s in women blood to be fashionable, somethng yuo men don't have. pluse in a mans world ,shed have to do outagrous things to get thee respect she wants.
Well......that's a rediculous way to look at things. If she was trying to become taller to see over the podium or ride amusment park rides, with out an escort, that's one thing; but, to have her legs broke to gain height be fashionable is just silly. That's the attitude that will always prevent women from taking themselves seriously. You're better than that Bobby
it is neither good nor bad.........just in poor taste I would have expected aomething a little more creative
It's pathetic. Imagine what they could buy with the money, when you think other human beings are starving.... Well time to break a bone, a chicken bone of course
She could have saved a bundle and bought some really nice "elevator shoes," 70s style and donated the rest of the money to something a little more deserving. And she really must have had a inferiority complex. There are a lot of women that are around 5 ft tall. All that money and pain for just being a few inches taller doesn't make sense.
Interesting story... I understand her objective in relation to her postion, but more so..... am frustrated with the image we desire now a days to be accepted. How it almost forces people to undergo physical pain in order to play the role. And whatever that role is... professional, personal, etc. - reaffirms people's desire to feel accepted and taken seriously. Richard thanks for sharing, love making the brain work on interesting topics... specially this one
I don't know ... I think you may have a point ... I mean, how many notice the "new" dress? Or the "new" hair style? Would you really notice an extra 3 inches??? Or would the first question be ..."Where the hell have you been, and where's our £20,000 gone? BTW have you had your hair done?"
While this is at the extreme end of the spectrum, I compare it to such things as Asian women (Japanese and Korean mainly) who have eyelid surgery to look more "western", or American women who have permanent eye shadow tatoos done. Most people are vain and will try to fit into whatever the culture deems to be a sign of beauty or fitting in. Men are not immune to this pressure. Check such things as hairstyles, clothing types, even the increasing popularity of tatoos. This is becoming even more common given the saturation of modern communication, where it is possible to have a new "fad" out to the world nearly instantaneously. The leg surgery thing is of the same category taken to the extreme.
Why not get one leg broken and stretched out, so that way you walk with a pronounced limp. In this world of vanity and cruel folks...not everyone is going to notice you're a few inches taller, but EVERYONE will notice if you are doing the pirate pete walk.
that is the stupidist thing a person could ever do for crying out loud what going on with people are they going a little cuckoo in the head no offense to any of the members here
