I am listening to all you reenacting guys and am definetly interested in doing them. I'm in Spain right now but starting September I'll be in Texas, any suggestions on how to get hooked up.
First off look at a few web sites, try the links page of www.lssah.com as they have some good ones. The next thing to do is to look at the image of the group, does it fit in with the kind of thing you want to do? I mean do they do loads of drill or is mainly combat stuff, that kind of thing. Next off talk to some of the guys on here about the unit you have picked, see what they think, they will know the unit well and will be able to tell you if they are good, bad or indifferent (so bad again really). Then contact the unit and go to an event, see what you think. If you like the unit good, go back, if not, try another. You are going to be spending loads of money on kit so make sure you go for something you really like. The other thing is make sure you like the fellas, your going to be fighting along side them, you need them to be comfortable with them. Anyhow, clambering off my soap box, the other guys will hopefully have something to add.
nope you about covered it but yea make sure that they use correct gear and stuff you dont want to be with guys that arent going to be acting their parts correctly, also if they're a good unit and you like them and everything, the unit having a lot of fire power is usually a nice little plus
I'm a member of his unit, I'll be there. 25. Panzer Grenadier members will be one of the two official FG units on duty at Rockford.
