If you could chose one battle in ww2 to watch live what would it be.(and you are invisable).

My choice would be the germans taking of Fort Eben Emael.

No battle, cos if I would see it, I would definitly never wanna hear somethin about war (technology, tactics etc.)

hmm, nevertheless it would be interessting to see the Battle of Savo Island and in the Denmark Strait

I would hope that seeing such suffering and slaughter would put you off forever.

Stalingrad, Kursk, The Ardennes, Monte Cassino, [insert name of practically any battle throughout history] almost all involve close, bloody battles and horrific, painful suffering. For all the romance and glorification associated with war that is not something I would want to see, ever.

Tunic, there's no need to insult the guy! He brought valid points to reinforce his opinion! You don't have to agree, but be civil.

It has got nothing to do with that at all.

I do not need or want to see first hand the pain and suffering that war causes. My imagination is sufficient that I can gather the knowledge I need from other sources.

Why do you want to see such bloodshed in the flesh? What need in you does that satisfy? You seem tied up in the imagery of war as a great romantic adventure with heroes and glory. The reality is unlike at re-enactments when people are killed they don't just get up and walk back to the medical tent for a coke.

It's the smell of burning flesh, the agonised screams as people died in horrific pain, the smell of excrement from where explosions have ripped open people's intestines, wounds that mutilate and debilitate in the most terrible ways, the deaths of friends and family members.

You want to see and hear and smell all that? Why?

My imagination and common sense is sufficient that from what I can recreate of such events in my mind I know I wouldn't want to see them first hand, so you can leave off the "imagination" remarks.

This isn't tank or even ground warfare-related, but if I saw a battle...I think I'd like to see Midway. Carrier vs. Carrier. Of course, I'd have to be able to zoom back and forth between the opposing fleets to see what was going on at the time. Midway, that's my vote.

As far as ground, I'd probably have to see the Anzio campaign or the Bulge.
