IJN Mogami CA/CV

    Here is the japanese cruiser Mogami after his conversion as aircraft carrying cruiser.

    Sometimes considered as an heavy cruiser, sometimes as an light cruiser (11.200 tons after modernisation and 13.670 tons after conversion)

    In this configuration, it could carry 11 seaplanes (AÏCHI E13A1 JAKE and Mitsubishi F1M Pete).

    After his collision with heavy cruiser Nachi

    during the battle of Surigao Strait,

    it was attcked by planes from USS Enterprise

    and scuttled by a japanese destroyer the following day.

    Stellar work nimitz, it's really quite professional. It's nice to actually see the entire vessel, rather than photos of small sections.
