I got this medal in a box of stuff my Granny left me. Some folks have been kind enough to help me identify the medal but I don't know who it belongs to. My granny was married to a fellow who served in the CEF and died shortly after returning home, but the medal doesn't seem to belong to him. My gramps served in India and this medal wasn't struck until after he left the service. Anyone have any ideas on how to figure out who earned this medal? There isn't any writing on it as far as I can see. Thanks, KTK
WWI Military cross.. Google Image Result for http://www.northeastmedals.co.uk/britishguide/military_cross/military_cross_obverse.jpg
Thanks Sniper. Unfortunately they didn't engrave these things and hence the history is a little harder to come up with. Maybe I should look later than I have been as quite a few of Granny's kids served in WWII. KTK
try here, they will be able to offer some help with recipients, as over 3000 canadians recieved it... Military Cross (MC) - Veterans Affairs Canada
If it helps, WW1 Military Cross was only awarded to Officers. The Military Medal was for Other Ranks. Same with DFM/DFC etc etc...
Thanks guys, I followed sniper's link and after awhile and a couple of emails I was sent an address where to ask. I will mail them a letter. KTK
