Naz-eBay: Holocaust denier David Irving tries to sell Hitler's hair and bones on website | Mail Online Controversial historian David Irving has set up a website selling Nazi memorabilia which he claims includes a piece of Hitler's bone and strands of his hair. Dubbed 'Naz-eBay' by Holocaust groups, the site also offers a walking stick used by the German dictator and a christening present given by SS leader Heinrich Himmler to Luftwaffe commander Hermann Goering's daughter.
Apart from the rather pathetic-seeming nature of Irving getting involved in selling rather petty stuff like this, I'm amazed at the media hysteria which is stirred up every time his name is mentioned.... I've just done a google search to the website in question, and there is the 'Hitler walking stick' plus a few Heinrich Hoffmann photos such as can be found at militaria fairs/flea markets throughout Europe ( including Germany ). Nothing especially tasteless or Holocaust-related. Interestingly, I couldn't find any mention of 'Hitler's hair and bones'...is that a fabrication or Irving enjoying 'winding-up' the media ? With Irving's books now unpublishable and his reputation as a serious historian completely discredited, why do the media and 'Holocaust groups' persist in giving the man so much free publicity ?
and the items are deemed original by whom other than Irving ? poor sod trying to catch and unknown with an utterly fantastic deal I bet ......
I'm not sure how long the "lien" on income remains in effect in the UK, but that is why his "books" are now given away online. Any money he (Irving) himself makes is garnered by the court as per his loss to Dr. Lipstadt (sp?), and Penquin Books. Anything he puts up for sale on the internet should also be subject to that lien, should they not? Of course "Hitler's hair and bones" is more than a tad suspect in my mind. A lock of his hair, perhaps. Bone? Not a chance in h*ll!
Maybe he meant to state that he has a "Boner" for Hitler LOL. I agree with Clint. Any money he makes should go towards the lien.
Never thought about that; maybe a "boner" was what he meant! That would actually make a sorta sense, but how would it be delivered? By photo? In person? Yuck on both ideas.
Irving was not fined by a Court as such, but is liable for the costs of Penguin books ( he owes nothing to Deborah Lipstadt ). A lien is a claim against an asset and Irving's flat in London was considered to be his only asset. However, he was officially declared bankrupt in 2002 and the legality or otherwise of Irving's sources of income is something of a legal quagmire.....
Prper words fail me on this one. But one thing comes to mind-the Russians supposedly destroyed most of Hitlers remains and supposedly only a few small skull fragments still exist. Anybody want John Waynes hair from his last hair cut? I have a bag full of it available. PS, no "dissing" Duke is intended.
