Hello everyone, There's a friend of mine who found this M43 field cap, he and I are not sure it's an original but would be quite happy to know consideering the object itself. I've never seen that configuration for a cap with only the skull on the front and the eagle on the side... And also, if it's real, is it possible to have an approximated value (not precise, just to give an idea) ? I really hope you guys know more than me and can give a little help ! I'll say straightaway that I'm not expert on headgear, but the first image gives me the immediate impression that this cap is a rather clumsy fake. Why ? The stitching is far to ham-fisted for any TR M43 cap. I'm sure that experts will also examine other things such as the buttons, etc. Personally, I wouldn't touch it.
Here's a reasonable replica SS M43..... SS M43 Feldmütze, Field cap The vendor is making no attempt to fool anyone ; this is a replica for re-enactors etc. At the very least, they've made quite a good effort of the stitching.
