Great website, there isn't a lot of unified information on Commando Supremo available on the web so a website like that is a great resource.

 

This past week Fred Leander has been hard at work writing the second part in the series of articles he's writing about Malta, Gibraltar and the Mediterranean war in general. Take a look and get involved in his discussions on the forum which will eventually end up in a book.

Also, you have probably noticed the banner advertisement for Comando Supremo's new sponsor FILMHAUER.
The site focuses on German film material from World War 2.
The news reel series Wochenschau that is offered is of incredible quality and the most complete that can be found on the web.
It is a collection of the best quality footage from many different sources including governmental German, American and British archives.
The descriptions are mostly in German but that is being updated.

Over the next weeks Comando Supremo will also begin offering Italian news reels from during the war.

One of our best authors has put in an incredible amount of time and effort to write an extensive article about Operation Agreement which took place in September of 1942 in Northern Africa and ended with the annihilation of Allied commandos. Take a look at his article as it is about the best in depth description that I have been able to find in the web. It's contributions like this that can keep Comando Supremo as the premier resource for material related to Italy during the war.

Also new this week to the CS Film Archive is a new DVD or DIGITAL DOWNLOAD containing original Italian newsreels from 1940 which deals with the war against France and the Low Countries. A stock footage buff myself, I find this material special as it contains material that I had never seen before and the video and audio quality is very good. Also included is footage of a meeting between Mussolini and Hitler in Ferienze Italy in 1940. If you are interested in German material you can download the product catalog of our sponsor FILMHAUER.
