    ROCKWOOD, Tenn. - John Gordon Rodgers, 89, of Rockwood and formerly of Bryan, Ohio, died Monday, April 7, 2008, at Harriman Care and Rehabilitation Center.
    Born June 3, 1918, at Rockwood, to Rosa and Henry Rodgers, he married Sallie Galyon on July 19, 1940, and she preceded him in death.
    A resident and employee in Bryan from 1958-1978, he was a boiler operator. He was a veteran of the 550th Engineer Light Pontoon Company and served in World War II.
    He was a member of the Clymersville Baptist Church.
    Survivors include two daughters, Midge (and husband, Ernie) Stiltner of Bryan, Ohio, and Vicki Peterson of Edon, Ohio; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Floyd, Randall, Morgan, Willard and Edwin; several nieces and nephews; and numerous cousins.
    In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Patsy Barras; two infant sons; a granddaughter; two great-grandchildren; his sister, Maxine Ciccerella; and brothers, Tommy, Charles, Darwin and Walter.
    Graveside services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Charles Kelley to officiate at Oak Grove Cemetery. Graveside military rites are to be conducted.
    Memorials may be made to the Harriman Care and Rehabilitation Center, 240 Hannah Road, Harriman, Tenn.
