    Here's the JU-390:

And here's the DB project "C":

The 390 was supposed to attack America. Sussposed to have a Nuke in it, but the Jerries didn't have one. The Profect "C" was supposed to carry other Planes that were rocket or jet propelled so that they wouldn't waste fuel on take off. I just gotta ask if they really were used for anything, like say an attack on the invasion fleet on D-Day. I got this game that says they went to attack, but were blown down by our fighters. Is this true?

IIRC the Ju390 is alleged to have flown to within 20km of New York. Only 2 were built.

The DB Project C is, AFAIK, a paper-project only so, apart from inside the warped mind of a game designer, never flew in combat. I love those spats, though!

Okay. I didn't think so. So that would mean Secret Weapons Over Normandy is Fictional.

Mostly -- I'm sure some of the aircraft are real but a lot of the never-were(well, hardly ever-were) Luftwaffe designs are too good for a game designer to pass up.

IIRC the Luftwaffe on D-Day was more or less conspicuous by its absence.

That almost certainly didn't happen though.

But it sounds good on the History channel    I agree, more likely not to have happened, but if I hadn't mentioned it, someone here is sure to KNOW that "massed squadrons of stealth 390's bombed New York, but no-one actually noticed" :kill:

Don't tell me you've forgotten about the Nazi-Martian-Flying saucers that were escorting them...

Or maybe they got to you too!

Those German bombers probably bombed NY to ashes but the US government 'covered it up'*

*Amazing how good governments are at covering thing up considering what a balls they make of everything else. :-?

ah yes, the 'Amerika Bomber' 2. Attempts were made using in-flight refueling techniques but I don't think that got off paper. Although they did get agents on American soil with the prospect of blowing the crap out of busy areas (Grand Central etc) They were betrayed by one of their own.

Are you saying the Germans air-dropped agents in the USA? Can you provide a reference?

they were dropped off by a U-boat. I saw it on history channel a couple of days ago. 'Hitler's War on America' was the name of the show.

OK, yes, I'd heard of that too -- I thought you were talking about air-dropping from the context

Yeah sorry about that. I think they would have preferred to do that but the range problem got in the way.

The show also memtioned that they considered using seaplanes. Besically land at sea rendevous with a u-boat and refuel there. Any thoughts?
