    It was on this date in 1950 that the very first American troops went into action in Korea. Just found that reference in an old Time magazine, but didn't find which action it was. It was part of a report on the U.N.'s 27,000 soldiers which had been promised to help the Americans in Korea, by other members of the U.N.
