    Eddie,
If you go to Germany, make sure you check out the bavarian ben website. It has lots of good info for traveling around Germany/Bavaria and the most important, the cheap accomodations.. Southern Germany is Awesome, contact me if you need help with any planning, went there summer 2007. go to goole.com and type in bavarian ben and go to Ben's Bauernhof, great site.

The day we went to Berchtesgaden, it was cloudy and rainy and the Eagle's Nest was closed down.. Bummer. We did tour the Hotel Zum Turken Nazi bunkers that was really eerie.

    Bunker - air-raid shelter | Hotel zum Türken - Berchtesgaden-Obersalzberg
It was really eerie in there.. They had the little rooms and such.. It was raining so kind of damp and water was running down there it was like a dungeon! but Very interesting. Next time I go, hope the weather cooperates for Eagles Nest.

    Great pics, Javirai, thanx!

Been there myself back in 2001. Great view and great tea-house! I am glad they did not destroy it.

Wish i had some picures of the solid brass elevator for you all, but no photos were allowed. Got one of the circular waiting room with the vaulted ceiling, amazing how they built all this.

Im glad to hear that hotel zum Turken is a good spot to go. I ran out of time to go down there next to where the Berghof used to be.

Local rumour has it that Hitlers mercedes cars are still missing and are hidden somewhere on t mountain??

Aso Hitler had a large storage of amber, which was highly expensive and sought after which has never been found either thats supposed to be hidden somewhere close nearby.......

If anyone has any info let me know!

    Awesome pictures!

Where/when did your trip start and how much did it cost you if you don't mind me asking. I've been trying to get a trip planned with a friend and we're looking to do like a WW2 tour from England, through France and the Low Countries into Germany and Austria.

Hmmm, the restaurant in Hitler's house. Yeah, that is a bit weird. Vegetarian I suppose...

Cost wise, im cant remember now, its not much. well worth it. Where did it start? well, apart from driving from Munich all the way to Berchtesgaden, you have to drive up to the bus station, which is part the way up the mountain. Here you park, by a ticket and regular buses take you upto the top plateau where you get the elevator to the top.

Yeah im thinking of visiting Normandy this March..St Mere eglise perhaps...
