While doing some family research with my oldest son, we ran across this old article from 1949. It is about a family member (distant cousin) who's story I did not know. PFC Kenneth Alward was in the 3rd Marine Division and was KIA on Iwo Jima. When the Americans were moved from the island, he finaly made it back home to Waynetown,IN. We were very suprised and also proud of Kenneth. I hope this is in the right folder. Some of the article is cut off by the library.
