Kenneth Wittig (1925 - 2008) HICKSVILLE,OHIO - Kenneth R. Wittig, 83, died at his home on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2008. Born Jan. 12, 1925, at Hicksville, to Ethel (Warner) and Ralph Wittig, he married Lila Lee Headley on May 6, 1949, and she survives. A 1943 graduate of Hicksville High School, he was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in World War II. A partner in Headley Motors of Hicksville, he co-founded H & W Automotive of Hicksville along with the late Delta R. and Leo R. Headley. He retired from H & W Automotive in 2007. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge No. 478, and American Legion Post 223, and a past member of the VFW, all of Hicksville. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two daughters, Kristine (and husband, John) Miller of Hamilton, Ind. and Linda (Clair) Forrest of Tiffin; four grandchildren, Jeff (and wife, Amanda) Miller, Elizabeth Miller, and Karen and Adam Forrest; and a great-grandson, Jackson Miller. He was preceded in death by an infant son, David Roger, and a brother, Harold. Visitation will be today from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Smith & Brown Funeral Home with a Masonic service at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Grace United Methodist Church with visitation after 10 a.m. The Rev. Greg Wack is to officiate. Burial will be at Forest Home Cemetery, Hicksville, with military honors accorded by American Legion Post 223. Memorials may be made to Hospice the Caring Way of Defiance or Grace United Methodist Church.
