A few years ago I owned a hobby shop in Melbourne and came across a few extraordinary 1:35 and 1:24 scale plastic kits which the serious WWII modeller should either build or put aside for later.

    These are worth a look.

Trumpeter 1:35 Leopold Railway Gun - a modelling tour de force
Trumpeter 1:24 WWII aircraft - the real thing is better but it won't fit in your display cabinet
Academy 1:35 Tiger with Interior Detail - needs a little bit of modification to make it almost perfect
I spent a couple of weeks on this one in my spare time sorting out the ammo storage (making more shells and modifying the racks) and a few othrr minor details and then like a dickhead sold it to a customer who was too lazy to build his own
Academy WWII kits in general are all excellent
Academy 1:35 Huey UH1C Heavy Hog - not a WWII kit but a great build all the same
There are some great reviews of most of these models and others here www.perthmilitarymodelling.com

Trumpeter 1:35 scale B-4 Soviet Howitzer. I remember seeing film footage of these monsters being fired point blank in Berlin, and wondering how on earth anything (or anyone)was left standing after-wards.
