Thanks for the heads-up, Richard ( although the word 'Revealed' fills me with gloom ! ;) ) George 'Johnny' Johnson was the bomb-aimer on Joe McCarthy's crew which attacked the Sorpe Dam ; I shall be interested to see the programme.....

Just got around to watching it as I had to tape on the night. Well, it was interesting and good.

I also recorded the programme, but I haven't got round to watching it yet...:(

I'm looking forward to it now that you have given it a thumbs up, Richard...:)

    Hello everyone!

For you who are living in Scandinavia, I would like to inform you that I have sent a mail to UK TV asking them if the program will be sent in the future over The History Channel, Discovery or Nat. Geographics.

If and when I get an answer, I will inform you here.

    Best regards
    Mats

Watched the repeat last evening. Thought it was very even-handed.

Actually quite a good effort, IMPO - in fact I watched it twice. 'Johnny' Johnson was quite excellent on-camera ; very lucid and straight-from-the-hip. The aviation archaelogy section was done well - much better than 'Time Team', for instance - and the little scene of Johnny, his Grandson, and the elderly German couple at the very bleak crash site of Warner Ottley's Lancaster was quite moving.

    Hello Everyone,
My dad is desperate to watch this program but missed it because we were out! I've looked on the Channel 5 website to see if I can download it from there but I can't. Does anyone know if it's going to be repeated? Or if I can buy a copy from somewhere?
    Many thanks,
    Jennifer

    Martin,

I've just finished Brickhill's book. Not read it before. So, it was good to have this doc airing when it did. As I said, I thought it was even-handed and kept away from the 'schmaltzy' angle, which is too often seen in progs like this.

    Hi, Jennifer

I think the repeat, last evening, was the last chance for a while. It may be on very late one eveing, but that means keeping an eye on the schedule. Before I knew about the repeat, I also looked on the Five website. Strangely, unlike BBC and Channel 4, it does not have a watch again/download service.
