I am trying to find information on U.S Army Chaplain, Charles F. Pegram. All I know is that he was rank of 1st Lt. He was in Joplin, Missouri on Nov. 29, 1942. He married my parents. My Dad was in army and at Camp Crowder in Missouri. I would presume Chaplain Pegram was Chaplain at the camp. if any one has any information or advice on search would appreciate. dg

From what it looks like your Capt. Charles F Pegram was born in 1897 in either Gas City, Indiana or Oak Hill, West Virginia. He died 16 Dec 1971 in Deland, Volusia county, Florida. It *appears* that his parents were quite old when he was born and he was a twin -- his sibling died. Both his parents are buried in a family cemetery in West Virginia but since he was married I'm sure he was probably buried in Volusia somewhere. I would think that he was probably buried with military honors but the VA doesn't have a listing for his burial.

I don't know exactly what you're looking for but I hope this helps :).

sjkramer Thanks for information. I am trying to find out what Company and Unit he was in. Hoping it might lead to my finding out more on my Dad's Unit and company. Also wondered if he went to New Guinea like my Dad. Also trying to find out more on Camp Crowder. dg
