Hello all. I am looking for publications that I can use for research of militaria mainly distinguishing fakes from real items. I am more interested in any Paratrooper militaria. Thanks for all of your help.

Just a question to help narrow it down - are you looking at Allied, or Third Reich, or both...?

All the Paratroopers during WW2. Good question.

OK - it's not really my special area, but I'll start the ball rolling with : -

'Tommy - Uniforms, Weapons and Equipment Of The Airborne Forces' by David Gordon ( Pictorial Histories Publishing, Missoula 1998 ).

It's a good little guide to what there is to collect, but doesn't focus on the fakes/original question. OTOH, as it deals with British forces, faking isn't too much of an issue untless you are talking Denison Smocks and Fairbairn-Sykes knives.......
