3wound badges, Black, Silver (denazified), and gold with only traces of gold left marked L11... these were all fairly cheap and my intro into badge collecting, I like the denazified one, and the fact that the gold one is well used....will get more minty examples over time View attachment 14466

funny how the silver one looks more gold than the gold one, tarnishing

It's not tarnishing...it is the porous metal slowly absorbing the gold finish of the badge. Eventually your 'gold' badge will just be zinc.

For anyone keeping score at home...L/11 is the LDO code for Wilhelm Deumer.

Oh yeah...where are my manners...welcome to the caveat emptor world of TR badge collecting.

Nice badges. I agree with you on your two favorites. They look like they have a story to tell.

Thanks mate, I like items with a bit of character.....I have seen some nice "mint" examples of these drivers badges on syder militaria.....not a bad price either....however I wouldnt trust him as far as I could throw him!!!!

By the way, where does that saying come from???? since when do we measure trust by distance????
