This will be about the ww2 places (Museums, Memorial places and much more) I have been to in my summer vacation.
My parents are divorced so my mother lives about an hour away from Kristiansand, and I live in Hønefoss with my Father and Sister.
The first ww2 place I visited was the “Gestapo Basement” in Kristiansand. I forgot to bring my camera so there were no pictures taken there. You can read about it here: Stiftelsen Arkivet - English

The second ww2 place I visited was the Cannon museum in Kristiansand, I didn’t get to take much pictures there, because I had forgotten to change batteries in my camera. There is one cannon there and you can see some of the bunkers, but most of them are sealed, they also sell militaria there, most of it is from what the army doesn’t need, but they also sell ww2 things like dug-up helmets and medals (Most of them are copies). I bought the top of a 40mm grenade, a magazine pouch for the mp40, a german medal, a german armband and an English flute: Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket

We had arranged that my father would come pick me up at my mother’s house and we would drive a different route to Bergen than usual.
On the way we stopped at a Memorial stone where 14 British soldiers were executed by the german occupation force: Memorial stone 1 pictures by colletorww2 - Photobucket

After that we visited a German fortress at Sirevåg, much bunkers and tunnels and such. The fortress is pretty much abandoned, most of it is taken away: Sirevag Fortress pictures by colletorww2 - Photobucket

I noticed a sign that said “War museum” when we were driving down E39, and I have to say that this is the biggest ww2 museum I had ever been to, it was over 2000M2 with vehicles, uniforms ,weapons and much more than I could have thought of: Huge Museum pictures by colletorww2 - Photobucket

The last ww2 place we visited on the way to Bergen was a military camp where my dad was when he was in the military, there was also a memorial stone there where the crew of the Norwegian torpedo boat 345 was taken prisoner during combat and executed there by german war criminals: Memorial stone 2 pictures by colletorww2 - Photobucket

A couple days after we had arrived in Bergen (We used to live there) we went to the “Bjørn West museum” you can read about it here: http://www.bjornwest.no/ It focuses mostly about the Norwegian resistance in the “Bjorn West” area: Bjorn West Museum pictures by colletorww2 - Photobucket

I had brought the militaria that I had bought since Easter to show it to a guy in Bergen (He is over 80 years old) (He used to collect, but he quit a long time ago [He still has the items, but if he gets something more he will give it to me (YAY) He had gotten me a Smith & Wesson 38 Special.

The next week we went to Øygarden where my uncle lives to visit him and to visit 2 crashed Blenheim’s, most of the plane parts have been removed after the war(The bodies too), the guns have also been removed(I think): Blenheim Crash pictures by colletorww2 - Photobucket
We didn’t get a chance to visit the Herdla Museum there that day so we went the after that. We drove a little bit past the museum (We didn’t see the sign until we had driven past it) and we noticed a sign that said “Herdla Fortress” so we took a little trip up there to see: Herdla Fortress pictures by colletorww2 - Photobucket

After that we went to the museum and it was less there then I had thought (I guess I got pretty spoiled because of the other huge museum): Herdla Museum pictures by colletorww2 - Photobucket

We also walked along the airfield, most of it is gone and the buildings that are still there are being used by a farmer: Herdla Airport pictures by colletorww2 - Photobucket

There is also a Fw190 there, but it is in a military container and you need to call some guy(We will look at it at another time.
When we got home we were supposed to stop at a memorial stone dedicated to the sailors that transported refugees to Shetland and it was also dedicated to the Norwegian resistance in the “Bjørn West” area: Memorial Stone 3 pictures by colletorww2 - Photobucket

We also visited my Grandmother and my Grandfather’s grave and I got some pics of the memorial stone that shows all the men and women that were killed during the war in the place where I lived before: http://s565.photobucket.com/albums/ss97/colletorww2/Memorial%20stone%204/

A week later we went home and on the way we visited the Tellevik Coast Fort: http://s565.photobucket.com/albums/ss97/colletorww2/Memorial%20stone%204/

I guess that was it(I think) but feel free to tell about your vacation…

Thanks, collector. Since it is unlikely that I will ever get to those places, the photos at least give me an image.
