Need help: original SS ring or not?

I've been in possession of a ring that seems an SS one, but I have a terrific doubt on it: I don't know if it's an original- or just a mock one.

Its origin is unknown to me.

It is very very similar to another ring, SS-LETTISCHE-RING, featured on www.Waffen-SS.no and other websites, but compared it has no colored parts - just grey and black - and no written parts inside.

Can you get any closer, macro pictures of the detail from your camera? What's the weight of the ring like?

 

or even put the ring the scanner , the result would be better than micro pics

 

I have not seen a ring like that but then again I'm not a militaria expert. I do know Waffen SS uniforms. Perhaps it could have been a ring which was commissioned but not issued. There are many such items.

 

Unfortunately I can't bring to you more detailed pictures of the ring.

The only other thing I can tell is the ring's weight, around 6 -7 grams.

No other information available.

So my next question is:

what are the criteria to match an original SS ring ?
