I am a member of the research team from Texas A&M University that has been surveying and documenting the site since 2003. We are currently doing some investigations on one of the buildings that is believed to have been destroyed after the Rangers had left the site. Could anyone give me a lead on the Engineering company or Military Police company (it might have been used to hold POW's) that might have occupied the site in June 1944. We are also trying to identify the exact location of Bradleys HQ that was described as being in an orchard behind Pointe du hoe. Richard Burt
I have two things. -The first Bradley HQ at Pointe du Hoc was at 7.45 , near German bunker L409 (37mm A.A. canon) in a field just west of the building. -Many 1944 maps mention "Pointe du Hoe" which is a mispelling that survives nowadays both place are the same and the correct spelling is "Hoc" not "Hoe".
