My name is Melanie, I am from New Mexico, but have lived in LA, and my family is from CT. I have recently become intrested in WWII after learning about my grandfathers service in the Sprearhead Division, and that he recieved a Purple Heart. He would never speak of his time in the war, and my father doesn't know anything about how he got the medal or anything else, I only met my grandfather a few times when I was 6 and younger so I know nothing. I would really like to be able to tell my children about there great grandfather and pass on our history. If anyone can help that would be great. Below is my grandfathers enlistment record, and the only other thing my father knew is that he used to go infront of the tanks, hope someone can help! I am not sure how to go about requesting records, ect. Melanie, welcome to this fine forum. We'll do our best to help you out. First of all, your grandfather was in the 3rd Armored Division. Thanks I will check those out, the only other things I found were these it says it is from series accidents and injuries, but I don't know what any of the numbers or anything mean, and it dosent give me the option to order it? And his enlistment number 31064065 I don't know if that helps at all. It sounds like he was a calvary scout but I am not sure? Anyways thanks for all the help!
