Hello all, Iam new to the site looks like a great place so far. Well my Name is John i served as a Sargent with the 4th Infantry Divison in Iraq on two tours, iam 23 and have had an intrest in world war 2 since probably 5 or 6 years old when my granddad would tell me stories about his time in the infantry during ww2. My main intrest is in the battlefield tactics and weapons, i also enjoy learning more about the battles themselves. So i cant wait to talk to everyone and get into some good discussions and learn new things and share what i have learned myself.
Welcome on this forum Kapser! I'm sure you'll enjoy this fine place. There are plenty of great threads about tactics and weapons (the militaria section for instance).
hi john and welcome aboard you have came to a great place with lots of fine people you will enjoy your stay.. best krieg
Welcome, Kaper. There are many informative threads and informative members with whom to interact. You bring the perspective of recent combat experience where many of us can only theorize or depend on stories we try to remember from parents or grandparents. You will probably enjoy the information shared by our World War II Veterans. I hope you enjoy yourself here.
hello everybody My name is Asker, i'm Chirkassian by nature, living in Russian Federation, military servant. I've taken part in some Inet-project and placed some questions on forum of my natives - Chirkassians - living in Turkey. And they said me about this site. The questions were about how people in other countries know the history of the War which in Russia is called The Great Patriotic War, so this is probably the good site to get the answers. Can the questions below be placed here? Those they are: Today many Russians believe that people in the West, as well as in Eastern Europe, don't respect the role of Soviet Union and its citizens in the common victory over fascism. Russians suppose that the USSR and its soldiers are considered to be "occupants" by the Europeans and Americans. We'd like to prove it. Let us ask you some questions please. We shall be grateful if you could answer them. - what do you know about World War 2? - what do you know about the participance of the USSR and Soviet people in this war? what do you know about the consequences of World War 2 for the Soviet Union and its people? -could you estimate the reasons and results of World War 2?
Asker, You might want to start your own introductory thread...People won't know you're here if you don't. Welcome aboard! David
