Hi I'm not a WWII vet or Korea for that matter, but was a war babie and born 1943. Love WWII history and have met interest people who lived at that time. My military was Viet Nam and few other places along the way. I 'm a scale model builder (WWII of course) and collector UBI. In case you don't know what UBI is, it's useless bits of information. Should you answer this and know what the Wild Geese are would enjoy a response. Lived and worked in several countries, Last overseas work was Desert Storm. Worked in Africa for four years in such garden spots as Sudan, Algeria and Tunisia. Got to first hand where the War in North Africa took place. Spent 9 and change in the US Marine Corp and retired from US Coast Guard. I retired from Lockheed a few years back now I spent most my time building scale models of just about anything. My house is full of scale models and running out of space. I'm single and enjoy doing what pleases me. Enjoy good food, wine and music.

    welcome snookiedog

are you referring to the 'Irish Wild Geese'? ......i know of them of course :)

"It's a story about Irish soldiers who lost all their battles and were forced to leave Ireland, never to return from their bitter exile. It's a story of the Wild Geese who plotted new lives for themselves in other lands, and of many who died fighting each other in diverse armies and strange countries. "

Well after posting my question I realized that a little research one could find out about the Wild Geese. Got to love the Irish and they make the world a better place. Since I had a bit time in the Africa Ive had the pleaseue of meeting quit a few interesting chaps of unique backgrounds. Actual the movie "The Wild Geese" with Richard Burton B/W. got me thinking. So, I checked a few profiles on this site and there are a few folks out there make me curious. Would like to swap a few tales with men that have been unusual places. Got another question for you-do you know what the "Gold Girls" are?

Why would someone jump out of a perfectly good airplane?. Meet a few PJ's in Alaska and they are AF's rescue jumpers that look for lost souls in Alaska. Was impressed with their knowledge and skill levels. They jump with close to $!/2 M worth of gear out the door of Black Hawk.
