A child of foster care, I have the barest info on my bio dad's service record. His name was Oree George Britt and he was a sailor, USN, sometime during the Korean conflict. Whether or not he was involved and saw combat, I do not know. He was born in Enterprise, Alabama about 1920-22. He entered the arm forces from Connecticut, far as I can tell. I would appreaciate any pointers as to how I should commence a geneological/military search. Thanks for any help.
Take a look here http://www.ww2f.com/military-servic...esting-copies-military-personnel-records.html. Perhaps one of the links there will help. Good luck.
Have you tried using ancestry.com and putting in what information you do have and running a search? Your fathers name is not all that common. It might give you a place to start. I would also go to National Archives and Records Administration and give them what information that you have and have them see if they can find the records for your father. Good luck and let me know how it turns out! Cathy
