    Hi there,

My grandfather passed away last year and I received some of his personal items from WWII etc. I have been reading and researching some of the items and more less been reconstructing his British military career into a bit of a timeline etc.

In researching his WWII service medals I have come across one that he has positioned after his WWII War Medal. I have reason to believe that this was a British commendation possibly during his service after WWII in the 'middle-east' more specifically Israel and Egypt.

I haven't been able to find any good sources for medal or service information during this time frame. Just wondering if anyone can help me with a credible site or information source that I may be able to trace this unidentified ribbon/medal.

The ribbon is composed of 13 stripes. Broad red center stripe. Followed by a thin white stripe on either side, then narrow blue, then broader yellow stripe with a very thin red stripe through the yellow, followed by narrow blue again, finishing off with narrow white stripe on the ribbon edges.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
