** I don't think the short article quite does him justice, so I will add the following: Purl Nicholas O'Hara was the son of Benjamin Nicholas and Laura Huffman O'Hara. He was the fifth of seven children, and the fourth son. On April 11, 1936, he married Margaret Marie Bradford in Greenup, KY. In April of 1945 he enlisted at Fort Hayes, OH. He is buried with his wife, Margaret, at Sunset Memorial Park in Gilmer, TX. His gravestone reads 'PVT US Army, WW II'. I have a few pictures of him, but sadly didn't get to know him as well as I'd like. I have a picture of him holding my brother as a baby; it was the only time I ever saw him smile. He was not a man who expressed emotions well, but he loved his family and is missed.
