Animal Aid: Purple Poppy to Commemorate Animal Victims

Animals: the hidden victims of war,

While millions of animals have lost their lives in humans’ wars, they are rarely mentioned in remembrance ceremonies. National campaign group Animal Aid aims to rectify this and has this week issued a purple poppy to commemorate the animal victims of war.

 

Oh great, 'animal rights' anti-vivisection campaign group leaps on random bandwagon that has nothing to do with the poppy appeal's intentions and work, in cheap shot at outrage publicity.

I just read their website's rather dull list of campaign 'triumphs'.
I'm about as impressed as I am by White Poppies.
ie.: Not very.

Campaign on what you like, but don't jump on a well-established and respected (one might even say revered) symbol to raise a bit of controversy.

If you give to a Poppy Appeal (and I hope you do if it runs in your country), give to the real one.:
