Interesting, interesting... At Godesberg, Hitler’s personal plane is damaged. Happily for him. Because at the Munich airfield they were lying in wait for his plane. A replacement Junkers is brought out, and they climb into the black sky still marked by the storm. http://www.barnesreview.org/July_2002/The_Bloody_End_/the_bloody_end_.html I read that in fact air field personnel were told what kind of plane Hitler would arrive on and if such plane appeared they should immediately send the info to Röhm. It seems Hitler was faster due to the change of the plane...??
Anything? I think I´ll dig deeper on this subject in books and net as I find it quite fascinating. I know Hitler was in trouble about what to do with the SA, it seems he tried to clear the problem with putting the SA together with stahlhelm members, but Röhm made it only for his own men possible to have high ranks so instead of ruining the SA Hitler had given Röhm a huge army...which meant even more problems. I might not have changed much about what the end result was but if Röhm had been informed that Hitler had arrived at 4 am to the local airport, how would have Röhm reacted??
