Hey guys i was just wondering if most units that did wear the HBT uniforms during Normandy and after the summer of 1944 did indeed wear rank or shoulder flashes on them ? I know like the 1st ID switched to a HBT/WOOL mix after a month or so of being covered in CC2 paste. Since the HBT's were with the QM would they have had rank or insignia ? or would they have just threw them on and away they went since they were in a combat zone ? Also ive seen ink rank on HBT's before how common was that ?

I've seen photos of HBTs worn in Normandy but I have no idea where (probably here). I cannot remember any details. I'll sniff around, see what I can find.
