Hi all, I am researching my family history and in doing so found info on my father's cousin (Robert Burt) who was a tail gunner in a Lancaster. I found so much of interest I am now trying to research the whole crew with the hope that one day I may be able to put enough together for a memorial book about the following 7 men: Sgt. Robert George Alfred Burt: R/206418, RCAF (Air Gnr - Tail Gunner) Sgt. Douglas Cruickshank: 620947, RAF (Flt. Engr) Pilot Offr. William Lawrence Doran: J/86233 RCAF (W.Op/Air Gnr) Sgt. Robert Henry Hudson: 3050164 RAFVR (Air Gnr) Pilot Offr. Norman Andrew Lumgair: J/86440 RCAF (Pilot) Pilot Offr. George parker: J/85528 RCAF (Nav) Pilot Offr. William Taylor: J/89913 RCAF (Air Bomber) Squadron: 408 Plane: Lancaster II, LL637, EQ-P All died: 15/16 March 1944 All buried: at Hilsenheim Cemetery, Bas-Rhin, France I know: Some of the Canadian crew members have geographical landmarks named after them e.g. Lumgair Creek and Doran Creek. the birth dates of all the Canadian crew members all next of kin for the crew members there is a French account of the crash and it directly mentions my relative Robert Burt Doran wrote an article or was the editor of the 'Observer', a monthly publication of the No. 2 Air Observers School at Edmonton Alberta I am in contact with: the nephew of the pilot, Norman Lumgair a church in the UK where Douglas Cruickshank is named on the war memorial I am looking for anyone who may have info on: the crew members 408 squadron the plane (I know it first went to 432 squadron and I have the dates for its movements from first going to 432 and then moving to 408 squadron) anything else anyone may think is of help... Cheers, LadyWolf
